Glanbia Consumer Foods

Glanbia’s product range encompasses functional and healthy yogurts, fresh chilled soups, sauces and cheeses, and its brands include Yoplait, Avonmore and Kilmeaden. Glanbia Consumer Foods Division has extensive retail and foodservice experience, and it has key customers in Ireland and the UK, as well as international manufacturers supplying a wide variety of consumer food and drink businesses, including infant, medical and sports nutrition companies. Employing almost 800 people at its head office in Kilkenny and nine other locations across Ireland, the division is the leading supplier of branded and value-added milk, yogurts, cheddar cheeses and fresh soups to the grocery trade.

GlaxoSmithKline

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is one of the world’s largest life science companies, with an estimated seven per cent of the world's pharmaceutical market. GSK operates in two industry segments – pharmaceuticals and consumer healthcare. Its history in Ireland stretches over thirty years, and its operation here has evolved to become a strategic global new product introduction and business development location within GSK. More than 1600 people are employed by GSK in Ireland across four sites in Cork, Dublin and Dungarvan. Many of the firm’s consumer brands are household names, including Panadol, Solpadeine, Niquitin, Aquafresh and Sensodyne, as well as Lucozade and Ribena.

Founded in Cincinnati by Irishman James Gamble, from County Fermanagh, and Englishman William Procter in 1837, P&G today comprises 138,000 employees working in over 80 countries worldwide. With a stated purpose to provide products and services of superior quality and value to the world's consumers, the firm one of the largest and strongest portfolios of trusted brands, including 22 billion-dollar brands such as Ariel, Bounty, Braun, Crest, Duracell, Pampers, Pringles and Wella. P&G established a business in Ireland in 1980, and its operations here include Marketing Development Organisations in Lisburn and Dublin, as well as sites in Newbridge, Carlow and Nenagh.

Vhi Healthcare

Vhi Healthcare is Ireland’s largest health insurer with over 1.5 million members. Founded in 1957, it celebrated 50 years of providing quality healthcare cover to consumers last year. Vhi Healthcare is a not-for-profit membership-based organisation, and last year alone it paid out c.€4 million on members’ healthcare needs every working day, or over €930 million in total representing a very significant investment in the Irish healthcare market. Diversification of products and services by Vhi has included Vhi Assist for health cover whilst abroad, Multi Trip Travel Insurance, NurseLine 24/7 for 24-hour medical advice, Vhi SwiftCare clinics, and Ireland’s first Dental Insurance.
