Angel is a full-service marketing agency based in New Ross, County Wexford. Set up in 2005, the firm works with clients across a range of categories. Angel benefits from the experience of working with Coca-Cola, BT and Sky in Britain, and its Irish client list includes Today FM, Connollys Redmills, Wexford Creamery and Cumann Leabharfhoilsitheoirí Éireann (CLÉ). Angel has played a central role in the success of the LeabharPower project, the Irish language books promotional campaign, now in its fourth year. This initiative promotes the wealth of Irish language books, designed to inspire and enthuse children in locations across the nation. |
Irish Independent Geoff Lyons
Established in 1905, The Irish Independent is today the largest selling daily newspaper in Ireland, offering both compact and broadsheet formats. It is owned by Independent News & Media, which employs 9,800 people worldwide, and whose organisation spans four continents and 21 countries. INM publishes 180 individual titles with a weekly audience of 100 million consumers, in addition to its 70 online sites. The Irish Independent launched a very successful initiative to tap into the increased interest in the Irish language amongst consumers, by offering a series of complimentary Irish language courses on CD, which yielded significant benefits for the newspaper. |
| Lá Nua Connla Lawlor
Lá Nua won the Foras na Gaeilge contract to publish the country’s only daily newspaper in Irish, building on the success of its forerunner, Lá, founded in 1984. The five-day a week publication has a team of 11 working from offices in Donegal, Cork and West Belfast. Lá Nua recently became available as a free PDF downloadable from www.nuacht.com. The publication was the first newspaper in Ireland to engage in podcasting, with a daily podcast highlighting a selection of the day’s news. Lá Nua continues to grow, and it is constantly adjusting to the Internet era and bringing the Irish Language with it. |
Oideas Gael Liam Ó Cuinneagáin
Oideas Gael is a thriving niche business located in the gaeltacht of Gleann Cholm Cille in south west Donegal. Since its foundation in 1984, Oideas Gael has grown its product range from a single language course to its present-day varied schedule of cultural activity programmes. The product is tailored for export, with half the customer base coming from overseas, including groups from universities in mainland Europe and the US. The staff team of three full-time employees expands to over 30 when programmes are in full flow. Based at Foras Cultúir Uladh, the Ulster Cultural Institute, the business contributes strongly to the local tourism economy. |

Spark Marketing Communications is a full-service direct marketing agency based in Limerick, serving a wide range of commercial and not-for-profit clients. Since its foundation in 2001, the firm has developed a service range spanning online marketing, non-profit fundraising using a mix of direct response and relationship marketing techniques, and a complete advertising service including planning, creative, copywriting, design and media buying. The agency specialises in designing, producing and measuring marketing campaigns, and has a particular expertise in database communications. It has done some innovative high-profile work in the Irish language, most notably in campaigns for the Limerick-based charity, Bóthar. |
