Operating the largest retail network in Ireland, An Post outlets are at the heart of many communities, offering a product range that includes bill payment, top-ups, savings and investments, and banking services. The company’s professional marketing team has undertaken extensive brand and promotional initiatives over the last year, strengthening the profile and image of the organisation, and providing support to its revenue and profit drive.

Galway United is a professional soccer club competing at the highest level in Ireland, and in so doing it provides an outlet for talented young players to play full time soccer without having to go abroad to chase their dream. Employing 30 full time staff, including players, coaches and administrative staff, the club’s success depends to a great extent on its marketing team, who generate interest and involvement through a wide range of innovative initiatives. Through its marketing efforts, the club generates €1.5 million in revenues per year, capturing the imagination of local enthusiasts and contributing to the local community.

National Concert Hall

The National Concert Hall, based in Dublin city centre, is rated by performing artists as one of the finest concert halls in Europe. Its marketing team implements a range of activities which are now attracting over 320,000 concert-goers each year. With weekly concerts by the resident RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, as well as a range of performances from classic operas to magical musicals, the National Concert Hall has become a thriving venue catering for all musical tastes. Its plans include an exciting redevelopment on Earlsfort Terrace which will see a brand new world-class auditorium with seating for up to 2,000 customers.

RaboDirect

RaboDirect is an online bank, Ireland’s first internet-only bank, and part of the AAA-rated Dutch Co-operative Rabobank Group. Since its launch in May 2005, it has recruited over 50,000 customers. As a challenger brand, it seeks to empower customers to take control of their finances through innovative products. The bank operates with a marketing team of just three people, who must work efficiently and effectively, individually and as a team, to ensure that key goals are met. The team believe that their ability to react quickly to opportunities and implement campaigns at short notice is a big advantage.

Westport Plaza/Castlecourt Hotel

The Castlecourt Hotel has grown from an 11-bedroom guesthouse in 1971 to today's significant business with 148 bedrooms, function room, leisure centre and nightclub. The 4-star Westport Plaza, a sister hotel, opened in 2006, offering guests a full range of facilities, and making the complex is one of the largest hotel resorts in the country. The successful growth of the business has been driven by the skills and determination of the marketing team, who have been in place for a number of years and who have built strong relationships with each other and with all other functions in the organisation.
