Gaining standout at a key period as Christmas was paramount for SuperValu. Working collaboratively with our creative agency, TBWA we were able to deliver a powerful, emotive piece of copy. Using our shopper insights to guide us to what shoppers most wanted for Christmas we challenged ourselves how to approach creating a piece of copy that would be fitting for the times that we lived in and be deserving for the ‘the year like no other’.
Winner
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre and Pluto

Yvonne Woods and Deirdre O'Sullivan

Pluto and DRCC have worked together in the past, through pro-bono fundraising events and board memberships. In 2020, that client / agency relationship transformed to achieve something completely new in the Irish promotional landscape. While DRCC are clearly a trusted and respected organisation, their legacy approach to youth outreach needed to change. NOW TV and Mediacom

Michael Forry and Conor Murphy

With Sky taking the socially responsible decision to pause in-home engineer installations in Q1 2020, we needed to find another way to grow the business during lockdown. Working with MediaCom, our long-standing media agency, we identified a new platform for growth for our OTT product NOW TV. By completely repurposing our media strategy due to changing consumer behaviours and living conditions, we ensured that 2020 was the best performing year ever for NOW TV. 2021 presents a whole host of new challenges but we’re confident we can deliver continued success in the guise of our new NOW brand in Ireland.

SSE Airtricity and Javelin

Jackie Kelliher and Ken Ivory

Through close collaboration and shared perspectives, Javelin operates as a genuine extension of the SSE Airtricity marketing team. In 2020 we launched phase two of a campaign to assert the new SSE Airtricity brand idea: This is Generation Green. To date it has been the most successful campaign deployed since the brand launched in this market many years ago. It is also part of an ongoing journey as we collectively seek to invite increasing numbers of customers to enjoy the benefits of wind energy. And to join us in changing the world.

The Irish Times and Owens DDB

Tania Meighan and John Gildea

The Irish Times and Owens DDB have enjoyed a strong working relationship for some time. As with most partnerships, 2020 would see that relationship severely tested. However, thanks to innovative thinking, being open to new opportunities and constant dialogue, and the ability of both parties to support and challenge each other saw The Irish Times emerge with more subscribers than in its history, a more diverse audience and a new brand campaign all forming a foundation for success in the years to come.
